The default weather application for the iPhone uses the yahoo weather service which is notoriously inaccurate for Australian weather compared to the Australian Bureau of Meteorology (BOM). Australian BOM Weather+ for the iPhone is a tweak to get accurate Bureau of Meteorology weather information on the iPhone including in the Notification Center Weather Widget. Having Australian forecasts from the Bureau of Meteorology in the Notification Center is really handy. It requires the iPhone to be jail broken. It also provides BOM weather for some other jail break applications including Weather Icon and Weather Plugins for LockInfo.
New in version 3 of Australian BOM Weather+ for the iPhone is ability to tap on areas of the Notification Center to show detailed forecasts and observations from the BOM. Tapping on the current condition icon in the Notification Centre shows detailed information about the current conditions. Tapping on today's forecast temperature or any of the six day forecast icons in the Notification Centre shows full weather forecast from the BOM. Also tapping on the BoM buttons in the Weather app and the Notification Center Weather Widget shows detailed Weather observations, forecasts and animated weather radars in Safari.

To install on your iPhone launch cydia and search for "Australian BOM Weather+", select and then install.
Any information that isn't held by the BOM will show yahoo data. For example, if the BOM only provides a 3 day forecast for your location the forecast for days 4, 5 and 6 will come from yahoo.
